All or Nothing

Do
you have this approach to nutrition and training? I have to admit, I'm
very familiar with the "all" part of it. The "all" thinking can get you
to your goal, but it's not sustainable. I know, because I've tried to
live there. Going all out for a specified time period, like a shoot or
competition is one thing, but you can't maintain a life there. The
"nothing" part of the equation is the other extreme, and this is
certainly not going to help you with your fitness goals. I often hear
people say, "well, I don't care, I just need a break!" Eating whatever
you want and skipping workouts will only leave you feeling mad that you
gave up your hard work. I know I've had times when I say, "I don't care"
but the truth is, I do!
So, what's the answer? Balance! Day-to-day life calls for balance, and an approach that maintains your results through a fit-lifestyle. The "all or nothing" mentality attaches success or failure to you daily, and it's unhealthy. For all of you that feel the weight of failure because you can't be "ALL" all the time, consider choosing a healthy weight and maintaining it throughout the year. And if you're on the "nothing" side, stop giving up all those hard earned results and jump back on the fitness train!
Do you have an all or nothing approach? Have you noticed it makes you live in a cycle of loss and gain and leaves you frustrated? Don't you agree a fit and balanced lifestyle is the answer?
