MY DIET AND EXERCISE PLAN!
MY DIET: First of all, I went from eating like… 2500 calories a day to about 1200-1500. That caused a significant difference very fast. I went from eating giant bowls of pasta to fruit, vegetables, lean meat, etc.
For breakfast, I almost always have eggs. The whole egg, not just the white, because the yolks actually have a lot of vitamins. I have 2 eggs, with bell peppers, green chile, onions, tomatoes, a little bit of cheese, oregano, garlic salt, and cilantro. Occasionaly I will have a bowl of oatmeal or cream of wheat and some toast. Other breakfast options: A piece of whole wheat toast with Laughing Cow cheese and some avocado on it, an apple, healthy cereal (Kashi, Special K), etc.
For lunch, it varies. Sometimes my mom has leftovers in the fridge of her super healthy meatloaf or meatballs (both made with ground turkey) and I have some of that. If not, I will have a pita pocket stuffed with chicken/turkey, green chile, spices, some cheese, etc.
For dinner, I generally keep it small and it varies like with lunch. Sometimes I make a whole wheat, homemade pizza and sometimes I make fajitas.
Each meal is about 300-400 calories, occasionaly more. I don’t really count calories, I just eat what I know is healthy.
For snacks, I have fruit (usually apples, grapes, pears, etc), string cheese, almonds, a small bowl of cereal, cream of wheat, oatmeal, etc.
Yes, I do let myself indulge sometimes. You have to, or you will go crazy. About one day every month, I go crazy. Eat whatever I want, indulge in everything that I want to indulge in. It doesn’t realy affect you that much.
EXERCISE:
I honestly think that exercise has had the biggest effect on my weight loss. I would definitely not have lost this much, this fast if I hadn’t started working out.
I do 30-1 hour of cardio at least 5 days a week. I try to do it everyday, but I am a full time student and go to class Monday-Thurs, so it is hard sometimes. But I do walk around campus all day with a giant, heavy bag so I think it events out. We have an elliptical machine in my house, and that is what I do my cardio on. It counts calories, carbs, and distance and is basically amazing. I do it on level 8 until I feel like I’m going to die (which is about 5-10 minutes), then I lower it between 5 and 6 and do intervals. I listen to dance music with a good and fast beat to keep me going.
I also do various things for toning like… 3 days a week. Most of the time it is Pilates (which KILLS) or I work out with my mom (who also KILLS). We do planks, push-ups, ab workouts, weight workouts - EVERYTHING. I’m always sore after working out with her.
I also do Insanity, which I swear by. I should be a walking billboard for them. It is a workout DVD program that costs a lot, but it is worth it. Look it up on Google and I’m sure you’ll find it. It is very intense and hard to do, but very worth it.
EDIT: I have stopped doing Insanity and I’ve moved onto the 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30 and 6 Week Six Pack. The download link to all of these (including Insanity) can be found in my FAQ).
Well, I think that is it so far! I will update this as it changes. Thank you for reading and let me know if you have any questions! :)
